Election 2016: Columbus records over 280,000 early votes




Over 280,000 registered voters have either voted in-person or returned their mailed absentee ballots in Columbus, Ohio as early vote ends today in the 2016 U. S. Presidential Election. 

With 74,951 in-person votes by Saturday, November 5 and the returned mailed absentee ballots of 206,443, the Franklin County early vote center has recorded 281,394 ballots of the 839,358 registered voters in Columbus, Ohio.

The number of early voters which surpassed that of 2012 Presidential Election represents 33.52 percent of registered voters.

A breakdown of voters and the returned mailed absentee ballots made available to TheNewAmericans shows that the Unaffiliated have returned 93,000 of 110,149; Green Party returned 205 of 232; Libertarian returned 110 of 125; Republican returned 50,058 of 54,888 and Democrat returned 63,070 of 66,131.

As the Early Vote center closes today all polling stations in Columbus will open on Tuesday, November 8.
