Students of Azza Sudanese Community School, Columbus, Ohio recently donated winter items to children of refugees from Darfur, Sudan who live in Franklin County, Columbus.
The items which included coats, sweaters, shirts, pants and blankets were received on November 17, 2017 by Amal Hashim, a volunteer who works with Darfur refugees for distribution to the children’s families.
The Director of the school, Dr Awatif Elnour said, “I was really humbled by the enthusiasm of our students and their willingness to extend the warmth to their brothers and sisters from Darfur, which was a teaching moment about the virtue of giving and helping others who are less fortunate.”
